This document explains the Concept of CCUs.
Preparing to execute instructions
At Eagle, we have very useful technical documentation to guide technical and non-technical users in their pixel streaming experience. To get the technical aspect of CCUs you will need these documents:
Instructions
1. Get the Concept of CCUs
‘Concurrent User‘ or CCU, is the total maximum number of users who can stream from Eagle 3D’s Platform simultaneously.
They don’t have to be the same users, they can be any users from anywhere in the world as long as the maximum number is not exceeded.
If it does exceed, then they are placed in a queue until a spot is open (i.e. until one of the connected CCUs disconnects so his spot is available for the next queued person to take it).
Example:
If you are hosting a party in your home, and your living room can comfortably fit 10 people at any given time.
It does not mean you can invite 10 people to your party. You could invite 50 people,
but you can only have 10 people in your living room at the same time. Some people might leave the living room to go to the kitchen, or go home early, and that's when new people can come into the living room.
As long as you don't exceed 10 people at any one time, you're good.
Think of Eagle's service like your living room party. Eagle might have hundreds or even thousands of games that people can play, but it also has a limit on how many can be played at the same time - that's the maximum CCU value.
So when a customer picks their CCU value, they're essentially deciding on the size of their 'virtual living room'.
Let's say a customer picks a CCU value of 100. This means at any given moment, up to 100 different people can be streaming games from this customer's account. These people could be anywhere in the world, and they don't have to be the same 100 people all the time. Just like at the party, as some people stop playing (i.e. leave the living room), others can start (i.e. enter the living room), as long as the total number playing at the same time never exceeds 100.
What happens if more than 100 people try to play at the same time?
Just like if an 11th person tried to enter your living room during the party, they'd have to wait. Eagle places these extra players in a queue, and they can start playing as soon as a spot opens up - (i.e. when someone else stops playing).
2. CCUs in Eagle 3D
2.1. Number of CCUs per customer
Every account at Eagle 3D has a number of CCUs.
According to this pricing plan, customers decide how many CCUs they need and which plan suits them.
1- Pay Per User = customer specifies the CCU number.
2- Pay Per Minute = they get 15 CCU (by default).
3- Pay Per License = The customer gets a Software to install and streams from his own Hardware and decides how many CCUs he needs.
2.2. CCUs in the Trial Period
The trial period lasts 7 days at Eagle 3D, customers get 1 CCU and free Support which means only one Tab of the game can be opened to stream)
If more than one Tab (more than 1 CCU) is opened, an error message appears on the screen ‘CCU Limit reached. Trying again in 10 sec.’
Eagle admins can set / add / delete the number of CCUs for the specific account based on the customer’s demand.
2.3. Track your CCUs usage from the Control Panel
Go to Control Panel → Analytics Data → Open Analytics → Generate Table
Generate a stream times table and track the location of the stream, Begin and End time of loading for each streamed App, Begin and End time of video stream, the date and time and the devices where the App was streamed from.
