Host your page for free on GitHub Pages

To show your streamed app on a web page, the page has to live somewhere on the internet. If you have no server and no website yet, GitHub Pages hosts a page for free, with an https address, in a few minutes. Our own demo pages are hosted this way too - you can copy one and make it yours.

Our demo pages, hosted on GitHub Pages

What you need

No software to install: everything below happens in the browser.

Step by step

  1. Make your own copy of a demo. Open the demo's source repository above and press Fork (top right). GitHub makes a copy in your account, e.g. github.com/your-name/E3DS-Iframe-Demo.
Starting from scratch instead? Press New repository, give it a name, tick Public, then Add file → Upload files and upload your index.html.
  2. Put in your stream. In your copy, open index.html, press the pencil (edit) button, and replace our demo's stream link with yours (look for iframe and its src). Press Commit changes.
  3. Turn on GitHub Pages. In your repository: Settings → Pages. Under Build and deployment, Source: Deploy from a branch; Branch: main, folder / (root); Save.
  4. Wait about a minute. The Pages screen then shows your address: https://your-name.github.io/your-repository/. Open it - your page, with your stream inside.
  5. Change it any time. Every commit to main republishes the page within a minute or two.
