Epic ships two versions of the Pixel Streaming plugin. Eagle 3D Streaming supports both — streaming, and communication between your web page and your app.
| Plugin | Streaming | Browser ↔ Unreal communication |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel Streaming plugin | Supported | Supported |
| Pixel Streaming 2 plugin | Supported | Supported |
Enable one of them in your project — either one, not both at the same time.
Your page sends with sendMessageToStreamingBuild (iframe or Web SDK) and receives your app's replies the
same way, whichever plugin your app uses.
| Pixel Streaming plugin | Pixel Streaming 2 plugin | |
|---|---|---|
| Receive a message from the page | Pixel Streaming Input component | Pixel Streaming 2 Input component |
| Send a reply to the page | Send Pixel Streaming Response | Send Pixel Streaming 2 Response |
The step-by-step Unreal example and our demo apps use the Pixel Streaming plugin. With the Pixel Streaming 2 plugin, follow the same steps with the Pixel Streaming 2 nodes.
The Blueprint steps, with the node names for both plugins.
